| I have been
making music or working in audio since 1976. Various forms of product have been produced,
but I usually like aggressive or funny sounds and content. Over the years I have worked on hard rock, punk, comedy skits, art noise and other rock related compositions. In 1989 I was forced to drastically pull out of music production which led to my video production. New friends have peaked my interest again in producing sounds. I've begun to rebuild a system from a few items left over from the 80's. Using a computer now instead of a linear reel to reel. That has proven difficult for me, but also much more powerful. I don't know what I'm doing with any of it yet, so this is a learning process. Currently I am playing with a Techno or Electro Industrial Metal type music because it runs well with soft synthesizers and is fun to make. I don't spend a great deal of time coming up with advanced note and chord progessions and it tests my new system without me spending months on composition. The audio files on this page don't really go anywhere, but they sure were enjoyable to make. Somehwhere I need to find a lead guitarist who can play high squeally notes. If you would like to perform some musical noise that loosly sounds like something let me know! Or you can just inform me on how wrong this selection of audio is. It would be nice to observe that these are copywriten by Rob Lippert, whoever the hell that is. |

Right click to download or left click stream MP3 audio files: These three are tests of my newer system. I moved everything over to a faster computer. They might be something some day. If I really worked on them. But who has that kind of time? Loop Through (Ver. 0.1) Mouth Work (Ver. 0.1) Check The System (Ver. 0.1) This is the new longer version of an audio file I did back when my msuic gear was new. I had problems with MIDI out, and friend BOB came out to help. It didn't help much. Still had no communications with outside MIDI gear. With some more reading on Cubse SX fourms (which I hated), I made changes to that blasted virtual MIDI output thing and I got it to work. This song is a test of the MIDI output, using just the SY85 from Cubase. This also has vocals about Bob's work on my MIDI output and the confusing failure my computer was- then the operational start that it is today. Bob is a good guy. He's into WAY too much stuff. But then I guess I have interests outside of audio too. MAIN BOB WEBSITE MIDI Bob (Ver. 6) A quick work of audio editing to produce some music for the MG video. This sounds distorted through my little computer speakers. Sounded OK through the HR824's. Let me know. Bass Bomp (Ver. 0.2) Updated just a bit. I received my new Schecter 7 string guitar and stuck together this test audio file. Everything except the percussion is the new guitar Robs Schecter Test (Ver. 3) Updated again on Friday 17JUN05. Song is now called "AMMO" and I'm still finding a place for all the pieces. I have trash duplicated vocals in place, but will add unique replacements down the line. Added a test of live drum loops instead of the typical MIDI machine, in the middle third. It's June 2005 and I ordered a new guitar. So I should bang out an idea with the old one before it arrives. Also, I need some gun oriented lyic for a machine gun video I'm working on. I don't think I could use all of this for the video project but some of it. I also need to bring the run time up. This is just a trial version of intro, verse and some odd thing I tacked on. This was made with just my 1975 Statocaster , Yamaha Bass and LM4 drum machine. Ammo (Ver. 0.8) I have reached the end of my ability with the current computer. Many of the progressions can't go any more because I can't hear the song from the editor. Too many tracks and effects. I don't want to spend time figuring out how to use less CPU so I'm going to just poke around with short usless audio until I get a new rig. This song is an example of that. Delayed Tracer (Ver. 0.4) Well I've started another pointless exercise. I've always like the piano sound, and this is somewhat chaotic. Again, I've built outside the ability of my CPU. I can't hear my soung without rendering it to an AIFF file or something. Hand Loader [Piano Seq] (Ver. 0.5) Here's a sound file that just says to hell with composition. Just throw in loose sound files and call it done. Everything except the drum machine and one hard sync drone sound was done with the Sequential Circuits Pro-One. Lead melodies are a single note. Eject (Ver. 0.6) This song has progressed a bit since I put it up back in December of 2004. My friend Tim visited from back east and was able to put on a quick lead guitar solo at the head. The other lead guitar sounds came from me. It was built as a background track for a video I worked on. Now I've stuck on my reference vocals that will be changed out down the line.I think the title will change too. This is an issue with digital audio creation: It's never finished and can always be amended. Thus the version numbers on all of these files. Double Charge [Tim lead Rob Voc] (Ver. 5.5) Here's a move into SLOW paced audio. Word was I couldn't bring the tempo down. I still don't know how this song will finish, but I'm putting the vocals all back in now. I hope I get someone to solo in this somewhere. Wire Skin (Ver. 1.8) Another quirk of electronic music that I slapped together because I was bored. First exported from CubaseSX 03OCT04. This version added a SY85 guitar sound in the front, and a lot of stuff got panned in the stereo field. Oh boy! I got to get some skilled lead guitar guy to come in and solo on some of these. Trench Knife (Ver. 0.9) It's looking like all the other songs will never get finished. I seem to have an interest in the song for about 30 continous hours, after that it should just be tweaking, or else I'm going to forget it. But I never have a free 30 hours free and I loose my focus on the song. Does anyboday else get that? I need to just do my music and to hell with the day job. Anyone want to support me? I started this "song" 18SEP04, 'In My Head' updated as of Friday, the 24th. Changed around the JJ samples, tweaked some stuff. I don't think this is done yet. I just can't spend the days and says it needs. Sounds like an "ode to C4". Features Jim Jones screaming because I couldn't find any cool samples like Charlie Quatro. Actually, who the hell wants to sit around and make samples from media clips all day anyway? In My Head (Ver. 3.5b) Most recent test to see if I can sync VST instruments to a VST drum machine. It was made mainly with the Oscar VST synthesizer. Before this I had no idea people could make audio so easily on a simple computer. Oscar Sync Test (Ver. 3.5) Test to see if I can sync the non-MIDI, analog Pro One synthesizer to an external drum machine by audio pulses. It worked, but then I destroyed some the tracks and now can't make it any longer without completey rebuilding. Since that's WAY too much trouble, this is all this will probably be. Pro One Sync Test (Ver. 3) This is the song that pushed me into doing some more music. Similar to the Pro One Sync Test above, it was made to see if the Pro One would still turn on. It was recorded without a complicated, software based, music composition editor. Using no special sound card or midi, I recorded the drum machine and basic sequence to two channels. Then built the rest manually with Cool Edit. Took about 6 hours and at the time I thought it was a good start. At some point I'll need to add a bunch of stuff to it. Techno Rob 2003 (Ver 2.2) Here's an even worse test song that drones on and on that I did in 2001 for Bob and Mitch, with the same technique. They had inpired me to make new audio because they were doing it. Well, Bob was and Mitch was buying gear. I don't remember if I ever sent it out to them. Found this file in a mess of other unrelated trash. This audio file did not make me want to make more.
